leave a comment »

I am sure everyone out there at least got a or Ever heard of Microsoft Skydrive? It’s something similar to Dropbox, Sugarsync or BOX. Previously Microsoft Skydrive is giving free 25GB to their user. Now the revamped new Skydrive default free storage is reduced to 7GB.

Starting today, we are now offering:

7GB free for all new SkyDrive users. We chose 7GB as it provides enough space for over 99% of people to store their entire Office document library and share photos for several years, along with room for growth. To put things in perspective, 99.94% of SkyDrive customers today use 7GB or less – and 7GB is enough for over 20,000 Office documents or 7,000 photos. Since the current base of customers using SkyDrive tilts towards enthusiasts, we are confident that, as we expand the range of people using SkyDrive, this 7GB free limit will prove to be more than enough for even more people. For those who have not try the Windows 7 beta and RC, DOWNLOAD it now !! . It’s a lot more faster and stable than Vista.

According to cnet, Microsoft has officially confirmed that Windows 7’s release date will be October 22nd, and will be available on both store shelves and new PC’s.

Microsoft Senior Vice President Bill Veghte said that in order to meet this release date, development of Windows 7 will wrap up by the middle or end of next month.

Last month, Microsoft made the Windows 7 release candidate available for download. “The feedback from the release candidate has been good”, says Bill Veghte.

It looks like OEM’s are also ready to go as well. “We’re locked and loaded for the launch. The quality of code is just absolutely stellar.”, says Phil McKinney, CTO of HP’s computer unit. Previously, Acer said that Windows 7 will be available on October 23rd, one day later than the confirmed release date.

We’re still waiting for pricing details to be announced, which is expected later this month. Starting June 28th, users who buy a new PC with Windows Vista, will receive a free upgrade to Windows 7. Students may also be able to get Windows 7 at a discount or even for free. (Source: Neowin)

Faces from Concepts Grand Opening

with 2 comments

CONGRATULATIONS TO CONCEPTS COMPUTER on the Grand Opening of their new Headquarter/Showroom at Kiulap. Concepts Commercial Suppliers was established in 1999 to meet the fast growing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) needs of Negara Brunei Darussalam.

After what may have seemed like a long wait among eager folks, leading local computer retailer Concepts Computer officially opened its newest branch yesterday.

Strategically located near the largest roundabout in the country, Concepts staff gathered early to prepare for the unveiling of what their boss, Vincent Pao, called “their new home”.

Minutes before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Pao, who is Concepts Managing Director, told reporters that he intended for the new branch to be like a second home for his employees, all of whom are Bruneian.

In Concepts’ 10 years of operation, the company has enjoyed what can be considered an extremely low turnover rate in comparison to many other private companies operating in the Sultanate.

Many of the faces at the shop 10 years ago can still be seen today, providing a testament to its employee satisfaction.

The new branch has three floors, and is sectioned by various services provided.

Guests at yesterday’s ceremony were invited for a quick tour before the buffet was served.

Offering a range of certified IT products, such as Acer and Microsoft, Concepts has become one of the fastest growing companies in the country.

Pao attributed the company’s success to teamwork and customer satisfaction.

“We have demonstrated to our customers, with our team that is 100-per-cent local, that we are fully committed to providing the highest level of customer service and support.”

He also noted that all the loyalty and support from customers have encouraged the company to strive even harder to providing better services.

“We are confident that Brunei’s economy will remain vibrant throughout the global recession that we are facing,” he said. “Concepts will continue to invest and grow, as well as create more meaningful jobs for Bruneians.”  – Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
